Political Integration Of India

India was divided into two regions at the time of  Indian independence in 1947, one under direct British rule, and therefore the other with the suzerainty of British Crown, with control over internal affairs remaining in the hands of their hereditary rulers. The latter consisted of 562 princely states, arranging various types of revenue partnerships with the British, often depending on their size, population, and local conditions. In addition, there have been several colonial enclaves controlled by France and Portugal.

The political integration of these regions in India was a declared objective of the Indian National Congress, and the government of India followed it in the next decade. Through a mixture of things, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and V. P. Menon convinced the rulers of various princely states to occupy India. after securing their accession, they proceeded in a step-by-step process, to secure and extend the authority of the central government over these states, and to change their administration, until 1956, the very middle of those regions There were fewer differences that were part of British India and princely states.

To solve the issue of indigenous princely states, on 25 June 1947, the Interim Government of India decided that a new princely department should be formed. According to this decision, on July 5, 1947, a princely department was formed under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
